Compared with the same period in 2021, the number of employees receiving jobs increased by 12,023 turns, the employment rate increased by 4.01%; the number of new jobs increased by 4,594 places, the rate of new job creation increased by 3.28%.

The average monthly income of city workers continued to increase compared to the previous quarter; Ho Chi Minh City is the locality with the highest average monthly income of workers in the country (9.1 million VND).

Accordingly, in the period of 2022-2026, Ho Chi Minh City will focus on developing high-tech industrial parks, developing industries that use a large number of workers with high technical qualifications, developing industries based on the modern technology and equipment.

In which, 4 key industries include mechanical industry; electronics-information technology; processing food concentrates; pharmaceutical-rubber chemistry needs from 271,510 to 322,897 jobs. The textile and footwear industries are also forecast to attract a large number of skilled workers both now and in the future.

Improve the quality of human resources

The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a decision on the High-Quality Human Resource Training Program in the city until 2025. Accordingly, the city aims to train high-quality human resources in various fields. key areas by 2025, including information technology, mechanical-automobile, mechatronics, automation, electrical-electronics, logistics, tourism, construction, and environmental technology.

At the same time, to develop solutions for high-quality vocational training, training associated with social needs, to meet the demand for quality and effective human resource training for the city's socio-economic development. Promote the development of skilled human resources, especially highly skilled human resources in order to raise labor skills, contribute to improving labor productivity and increase national competitiveness. Increase the proportion of trained workers by the end of 2025 to 87% of the total number of employees.
