According to the American Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFTA), Vietnam is currently the second largest supplier of textiles, apparel and footwear to the US market, accounting for 20% of total imports.

Vietnam's garment exports will continue to recover in the first seven months of 2022 thanks to the recovery of the global economy, and spending on apparel will increase after a period of "repression" due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Export of the whole textile and garment industry after 7 months reached nearly 27 billion USD, up nearly 20% over the same period. Therefore, the industry expects to finish this year with a high scenario of 43.5 billion USD.
