Textile and garment enterprises face difficulties because the locality is worried about pollution

The Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association has just proposed to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to soon approve the development strategy of the textile and garment industry to 2030, creating a basis for the textile and garment industry to invest in raw material production, thereby being more proactive in production materials. , taking advantage of free trade agreements.

In fact, the production of textile raw materials, especially fabrics, is a weak point and a bottleneck in the development of the textile industry today. Many localities are not interested in licensing textile dyeing due to concerns about environmental pollution. Therefore, the approval of the industry development strategy will create a basis for the formation of specialized industrial parks, with enough infrastructure to develop the textile industry, and form a complete textile and garment ecosystem.

It is known that the export turnover of the textile and garment industry is about 40 billion USD/year. Vietnam has signed 17 free trade agreements. However, with 60% of production materials being imported fabrics, textile enterprises lost the opportunity to enjoy preferential tax rates from export markets.

Therefore, the improvement of the ecosystem for the production of domestic textile materials, in particular, the addition of textile dyeing enterprises will help the export activities of the textile and garment industry to grow strongly in the coming time. In addition, Mr. Vu Duc Giang, Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association, said that the current technology is very modern, so if the investment takes into account the factors of waste treatment and environmental protection, You will not have to worry about the risk of causing environmental pollution.
